Sleep for wellness

How important is sleep? What are the implications on your overall physical and mental health? Sleep deprivation can rob you from good health or wellness. Sleep is necessary and it is the body’s way of restoring itself. Lack of sleep is associated with weight gain, mood disorders, lowered immunity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. Some health habits to improve sleep patterns are establishing a sleep schedule at approximately the same time each day, turning off electronics and light sources, and avoiding stimulants such as caffeine drinks.
